About DIC

Design Innovation Centre (DIC) was set up at School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi as a part of National Initiative of Design Innovation (NIDI), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The mandate was to spread design education and propel R & D activities in Design that becomes the catalyst for devising innovation solutions.

Activities

Design Innovation Centre (DIC) at SPA New Delhi has promoted students engagement / participation through design Competitions, Innovation fests, Innovation oriented tasks, and exhibitions with the purpose to promote the idea of innovation/ raising the innovation Quotient among students.Elective courses are also undertaken on Design thinking as part of DIC initiative at SPA, New Delhi.

DIC Coordination Center

Design Innovation Centre (DIC) was set up at School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi as a part of National Initiative of Design Innovation (NIDV), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Government of India.

Digital Design Centre

On 3rd July, 2018 a Centralized Digital Design Fabrication Lab was setup in CASS (Planning) with hardware and software for realizing the objectives of DIC.

DIC Advisory Committee

An Advisory Committee was formed in 23rd March 2018, comprising of four internal members and two external members. The first meeting of the Advisory Committee was held in the month of 16thMay 2018 for making the Action plan for smooth functioning of DIC Coordination Centre.
